My name is Kenn, and I founded Wrenches & Rags with one simple goal: to provide honest, professional automotive repair at prices everyday people can afford.

A Lifetime of Turning Wrenches

I've been working on vehicles since 1998.

Like many mechanics, it started by maintaining my own vehicles. Before long, friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers began calling whenever they needed help diagnosing or repairing their cars. Those experiences taught me that every repair is an opportunity to earn someone's trust.

Early in my career, I spent a couple of years learning from an experienced Chevrolet Master Technician. Those years helped shape the way I approach automotive repair today—diagnose the problem correctly, explain it honestly, and repair it properly the first time.

To continue building my skills, I later gained dealership experience at Lithia Ford, where I worked with manufacturer repair procedures, professional diagnostic methods, and modern vehicle systems, becoming dealer certified. 

I also spent three years as the Lead Mechanic for a motor scooter repair shop, performing everything from routine maintenance and electrical diagnostics to complete engine removals, rebuilds, and installations. That experience strengthened my troubleshooting skills and reinforced the attention to detail I bring to every repair.

Today, after more than 25 years of hands-on experience, I continue doing what I've always enjoyed: helping people keep their vehicles safe and reliable.

Why I Started Wrenches & Rags

Wrenches & Rags wasn't started to become the biggest repair shop in town.

It was started to help people.

I've seen too many customers receive repair estimates they simply couldn't afford. I wanted to create a business that focuses on honesty, transparency, and keeping costs as low as possible without sacrificing quality.

One way I accomplish that is by not purchasing or reselling customer parts. Instead of marking up parts for additional profit, I allow customers to purchase the parts they prefer from the retailer of their choice. That means you know exactly what you're paying for, and you pay me for my knowledge, diagnostics, and workmanship—not hidden markups.

By operating as a mobile mechanic instead of a traditional repair shop, I can also avoid much of the overhead associated with maintaining a physical garage. Those savings help keep my labor rates competitive while still providing professional-quality repairs.
